Get an Alberta Identification Card
If you don't have an Alberta driver's licence, an Alberta ID card gives you photo ID. You need to live in Alberta and be legally able to live in Canada. Apply at any registry agent.
What you'll need
- Original photo ID that proves who you are, such as a permanent resident card
- Proof you live in Alberta, dated in the last 90 days, such as a utility bill or lease
- Proof of your legal status in Canada, such as a PR card, COPR, permit or refugee protection claimant document
- An approved translation of any document that is not in English
